Oriental has many shopping opportunities. Check out the listings under Oriental Links for the Town Business Directory. There you will find clothing and shoes, kayaking equipment, hardware, marine and fishing supplies, marine consignment, art and jewelry, home furnishings and decorative items, and gifts. We also have two wine shops, a health food store, a grocery store, an antique shop, and a flower shop. All are within walking or bike riding distance of the harbor. On Saturday mornings, you will find a crowd at the Oriental Farmers Market held on Hodges Street at the Wit's End (at the harbor). You will find fresh produce, baked goods, and craft items.
Throughout the year there are arts festivals and other events where you can shop for bargains, or one of a kind items. Annually we have a town wide yard sale on the first Saturday in May. This event draws 90-100 sellers and hundreds of buyers from all over Eastern North Carolina.
